Book - made with love

It's been a crazy month so far. In fact it's been a crazy year. So much has been going on, there's really no time to even sit down, think about it, and write about it.

So, my first craft project of the year.
The guestbook for D's wedding, which was a great start to doing all things with.

Here are some of my favourite pages.

Let's start with the very last page of the book.

 Very pretty flower embellishment.

A couple of simple pages for easy writing.

Making things a little more interesting:

I particularly love this one which has all the things I love doing with craft:
First, the tag with the couple's initials on it and one of the very pretty dragonfly brads I've been dying to use.
The envelope is filled with bits of paper and little cards for guests to write their messages on.

Notes clipped to a ribbon.

Button!!!!!!! Yeah I just needed an excuse to use that paper with that button.

Girls' weekend

One day to Valentine's day, and D's wedding!
No pre-wedding routine is complete without a girls' weekend. Some sneak peeks behind the scenes of our weekend away.

A photo session with the girls at sunset.

A scrummy dinner at Feringghi Garden restaurant.

With amazing desserts
And this very cute horsie, which D called a bear, to the waiter's chagrin, on one of the yummiest cheese cakes I've had of late.

More on crafting in the next couple of days! ❤️

Dreaded Measurements

It was Sunday brunch, and I'd been pigging out on some really scrummy yogurt (more on where this was next time!), when D arrived with fiance in tow.
So here's the thing - much earlier in the year, I knew I was going to be one of the bridesmaids.
But then a couple of weeks ago....

Brunch was the first time we were meeting up since my appointment as M.O.H. and there was much to catch up on. Not easy to not feel like a completely useless M.O.H. from half the country away! First on the list of things to do: give D my measurements so that she can order the bridesmaids dresses.

What? So soon?

Yes. But don't worry, we'll have a fitting and then you can get the dress altered.

Phew. That buys me some time to work out.
By the way, she showed me a photo of the dress we bridesmaids are supposed to wear. Let's just say I've got a lot of work to do on my shoulders, back and arms in addition to the tummy I already knew I had to lose.
So when is this fitting?

Early September.

WHAAAT?

Needless to say, the gym membership that I'd put off signing up for was signed and stamped the next day.

No kidding around this time.
